Frequently Asked Questions

I have spent a great amount of time, energy, and money staying current with best practices in animal care. I am licensed, insured, trained in animal cpr/first aid, animal behavior, fear free handling techniques and understand how to identify and prevent problems early on. Especially in the cases of things like bloat, colic, founder, or major injury, swift action can mean the difference between life and death.

For dogs with access to a doggy door I suggest 2 visits per day. Those without access usually do ok with 3 and those with special needs or puppies under 1 year I suggest overnight stays along with 2 drop ins midday. Most cats and caged animals are fairly self sufficient but I require once per day visits. This is to ensure the safety and security of both your pet(s) and your home.

From geckos to horses I care for animals of all sizes and breeds! Dogs, cats, sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, birds, horses, donkeys, alpacas, cattle, pigs, lizards, turtles, fish, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs and more!

I provide a plethora of services for those animals needing a little extra TLC. Examples include: medication administration, injections (diabetic), IV fluids, wound care and bandage changes, mobility assistance for those with amputations, weakness, paralysis, and genetic abnormalities, following special diets and feeding protocols, bladder expression, hoof soaking, and surgery recovery to name a few.

This also includes shy/timid/fearful animals who need a little extra love and patience.

Directly from the ASPCA website: enrichment refers to activites that allow dogs to engage in their innate behaviors, such as playing, chasing, smelling, chewing and scavenging. By allowing your dog to engage in these behaviors, you allow them to be physically, emotionally and mentally satisfied. Dogs who don’t receive stimulation tend to find ways to enrich themselves, resulting in unwanted behaviors.
